Welcome to my repository for numerous drive routes around the Midlands and mid Wales. The preference is to avoid motorways and take in country roads with nice twists and turns, a large number of routes have been put together by members of South West Midlands MX5 Owners Club.

I have created these itineraries using a great tool called MyRoute-App using a PC web browser then export the routes in .itn format for Tomtom devices, or .gpx (V1.0 and V1.1) format for Garmin and newer Tomtom devices.
You can also buy a licence for a product called MyRoute-App Navigation written specifically to integrate with the MyRoute-App planning tool although it does have it’s own Route Editor (and much more) allowing you to create and manage routes.

I have a “Gold” subscription to MyRoute-App because it allows me to plot the routes using any of OpenStreetMap, Tomtom maps and Garmin / Here maps and then compare the route using each map to work round any differences in the route mapping algorithms. The free version of MyRoute-App uses only OpenStreetMap maps but does allow you to export the itineraries in many different formats (.itn, .gpx 1.1, .gpx1.0, .tpf(route), .trf(route), .kml(route), .kmz(route), .ov2(POI), .csv(POI), .tar.gz(route), .pdf).

If you click the MyRoute-App route link on the Posts Pages, it will ask if you only want to download the route to use on your GPS device? or you can Save this route now! (You do not need an account for that), or gives you the option to register for a FREE account where you can then see and modify the route source.
